MediaIndex.eu is an independent European platform created to bring news from different European countries together in one clear and accessible space.

Europe has dozens of countries, languages and national media environments. Important events often remain within local information spaces, while readers have to visit many separate websites to understand what is happening across the continent. MediaIndex brings these different news flows together while preserving the identity of every country and every source.

 

Our purpose

Our purpose is to make the European news landscape easier to navigate. MediaIndex allows readers to follow the country that matters to them, discover publications from different sources and see which stories are receiving attention at a particular moment.

Each country has its own edition. Readers can move between national news feeds and select the country they want to see when they return to the platform.

 

One Europe, many perspectives

MediaIndex is based on the idea that Europe should be seen through more than one national or editorial perspective. Events in Latvia, Italy, Belgium, Germany or any other European country are part of a wider European information space.

The platform does not attempt to create a single European opinion. It provides access to different sources, viewpoints and national news agendas in one place.

 

Supporting original media

MediaIndex does not replace newspapers, news websites or independent publishers. Every headline leads directly to the original publication on the source website.

Readers discover the story through MediaIndex, while the publisher receives the visit and keeps the relationship with its audience.

MediaIndex is not a political organisation and does not represent any government, political party, media group or national interest.

We do not rewrite articles or present other publishers’ work as our own. Every source remains responsible for its publications, editorial position and accuracy.

MediaIndex is being developed as a practical index of the European media environment: a place where readers can follow national news, compare information flows and discover media sources from across Europe.
