2. Nature of the platform
MediaIndex.eu is an independent European news-indexing and media-discovery platform.
The platform collects and organises headlines and related publication information by country and provides direct links to the original publications on third-party media websites.
MediaIndex does not republish complete news articles and does not present publications created by third-party media sources as its own content.
The platform may also provide directories of publicly accessible Facebook groups and services allowing group administrators and media owners to submit information for review.
3. News sources and third-party content
Headlines, source names, favicons, publication times, links and other publication metadata may be received through RSS feeds, public publishing channels, source-provided feeds or other publicly accessible sources.
All rights to original articles, photographs, videos, trademarks, logos and other third-party materials remain with their respective owners.
Each publisher remains solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, editorial position and availability of its publications.
The inclusion of a source or publication in MediaIndex does not constitute endorsement, approval, partnership or editorial agreement unless such a relationship is expressly stated.
4. Most-read ranking
The MediaIndex most-read ranking is calculated using outgoing visits recorded when MediaIndex users open links to original publications.
The ranking reflects activity within MediaIndex during the selected time period. It does not represent the publisher’s complete audience, total internet traffic or the overall importance or accuracy of a publication.
A position in the ranking does not constitute an editorial recommendation or endorsement by MediaIndex.
5. Facebook Group Directory
The Facebook Group Directory contains information about publicly accessible Facebook groups. Information may be submitted by group administrators or obtained from publicly available group information.
Group administrators and owners remain responsible for their groups, publications, membership rules, moderation and compliance with applicable law and platform rules.
MediaIndex is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Meta Platforms, Inc. Facebook and related names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
6. Intellectual property
The MediaIndex name, website structure, software, databases, original texts, visual design and other elements created specifically for MediaIndex are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Third-party headlines, names, logos, favicons, trademarks and linked materials remain the property of their respective rights holders.
No ownership of third-party publications is claimed by MEDIA IEU, SIA.
Reproduction, modification, distribution or commercial use of original MediaIndex materials without prior written permission is prohibited, except where permitted by applicable law.
7. External links and limitation of liability
MediaIndex contains links to websites and services operated by third parties. MEDIA IEU, SIA does not control those websites and is not responsible for their content, security, availability, advertising, data-processing practices or subsequent changes.
MediaIndex takes reasonable measures to maintain accurate and functioning information but does not guarantee that every headline, link, ranking, source description or publication time will always be complete, current or error-free.
The website and its services are provided on an “as available” basis. Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, technical failures, source-feed errors or circumstances beyond the reasonable control of MEDIA IEU, SIA.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MEDIA IEU, SIA shall not be liable for losses resulting from the use of third-party content, external websites or temporary unavailability of the platform. Nothing in this Legal Notice excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
8. Paid listings and feed connections
Payment for adding a group, connecting a media feed or using another commercial MediaIndex service does not purchase a higher ranking, editorial recommendation, guaranteed number of visits or guaranteed commercial result.
Applicable prices, placement periods and payment conditions are provided during the relevant submission and approval process.
9. Corrections and rights-holder notices
Requests concerning incorrect information, removal of a source, intellectual-property rights or other legal matters may be sent to info@mediaindex.eu.
The request should identify the relevant page or publication, explain the reason for the request and include sufficient information to verify the identity and authority of the person submitting it.
MEDIA IEU, SIA will review properly supported notices and take appropriate action where required by applicable law.
10. Applicable law and jurisdiction
This website and this Legal Notice are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia and applicable European Union law.
Disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of the Republic of Latvia, without prejudice to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction granted to consumers under applicable law.
11. Changes to this Legal Notice
MEDIA IEU, SIA may update this Legal Notice when the platform, its services or applicable legal requirements change.
