From August 28 to 30, Lisbon becomes another major musical destination in Europe. MEO Kalorama 2026 takes over Parque da Bela Vista for three days with a programme that brings together several generations of artists and a wide range of genres. Across the same festival site, audiences will see Robbie Williams, Grace Jones, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Deftones, Interpol, Turnstile, Clipse, Black Star, Vince Staples and many more. For the final days of August, that lineup makes Lisbon one of the busiest live-music destinations in Europe.

The first day, August 28, is led by Robbie Williams. Grace Jones, Interpol, MARO and Anna von Hausswolff are also on the programme. The combination of Robbie Williams and Grace Jones already feels like a meeting between two very different eras of major pop culture, while Interpol add a completely different alternative dimension to the night. Portuguese singer MARO strengthens the local side of the lineup, so the opening day is not built around one genre but around several very different audiences.

On August 29, the festival changes direction dramatically. The main event becomes a performance by Ms. Lauryn Hill with special guests Wyclef Jean, YG Marley and Zion. The final day on August 30 changes the atmosphere again, with Deftones, Turnstile, Clipse, Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist and Peaches.

Reading & Leeds are providing another story this year that goes far beyond the usual festival schedule. Several young artists whose family names are already famous because of their parents are appearing across the two British festival sites at the same time. Gene Gallagher, the son of Liam Gallagher, is performing with his band Villanelle, while Moses Martin, the son of Chris Martin, appears with People I’ve Met. Today, August 27, Reading Festival and Leeds Festival begin simultaneously in the United Kingdom, once again operating as two festivals that function as one large musical event across two cities. The defining feature of Reading & Leeds remains the same: the two festivals use a mirrored schedule. The same artist performs on different days at the two sites, allowing most of the major names to appear in both Reading and Leeds. Charli XCX, for example, performs at Reading on Friday before moving to Leeds on Saturday. Florence + The Machine start in Leeds on Friday and then appear at Reading on Sunday. Dave follows the opposite route, playing Reading on Saturday before closing his festival weekend in Leeds on Sunday.

The scale of interest is already clear before the biggest evening performances begin. All camping tickets for Reading have sold out, showing that a large part of the audience is coming for the full four-day festival experience rather than for one individual concert. The programme brings together contemporary pop, alternative rock, post-punk, indie, heavier music and several generations of artists with established international audiences.

Tyler, The Creator opened the festival, while Lorde becomes the main name on August 27. Djo, the music project of Joe Keery, performs on the main stage before her. The following day is built almost entirely around major rock acts, with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand, Wet Leg, Biffy Clyro, Sparks and Wilco all appearing. That combination makes Rock en Seine attractive not only to French audiences but also to visitors travelling to Paris from elsewhere in Europe.

The programme becomes noticeably heavier on August 29 with Deftones, Turnstile, Amyl & The Sniffers and Clipse, while the final day on August 30 will be headlined by The Cure. Interpol, Mogwai, Slowdive and Wolf Alice will also perform that day. Three-day and four-day passes have already sold out, underlining the scale of interest before the festival has even reached its final stretch. Within Europe’s summer concert calendar, Rock en Seine has become one of the most concentrated major music events of late August.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have returned to the English Cotswolds, where they are reportedly staying at a private estate while Jay-Z prepares for two major concerts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

The performances will take place on September 4 and 5 and will be the rapper’s only UK concerts this year. These are not ordinary tour dates but two large anniversary shows celebrating albums that defined different stages of his career.

The year 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. Both records are regarded as landmark releases not only in Jay-Z’s discography but in the history of American hip-hop.

Preparations are taking place under strict secrecy. A large secured facility in East London has reportedly been hired for rehearsals involving musicians, dancers and the technical production team.

The scale of the operation is already visible outside the rehearsal venue. Around 30 vans carrying equipment, crew members and performers reportedly arrived at the facility on a single day.

Part of the car park has been closed and converted into a temporary helicopter landing area. Jay-Z is using the helicopter to travel daily between the Cotswolds and East London.

The distance between the landing point and the entrance to the rehearsal space is only a few dozen metres. Nevertheless, a vehicle is reportedly waiting to drive him directly to the building whenever necessary.

Taylor Sheridan accused of stealing the idea for Yellowstone after rejecting a similar project

Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan has become the subject of a major copyright lawsuit. Screenwriter Lauren Salkin alleges that important elements of the celebrated television franchise were taken from her project Sovereign Nation, which she submitted to Sheridan’s representatives shortly before Yellowstone entered development.

The copyright infringement lawsuit was filed on August 21 in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. The defendants include Sheridan, producers Art Linson and John Linson, and several companies associated with the series, including Paramount, 101 Studios, Bosque Ranch Productions and Linson Entertainment.

Salkin says she spent approximately a decade developing Sovereign Nation. The proposed series was a contemporary Western drama focused on tribal government, land ownership, political influence and the economic power created by a Native American casino.

According to the complaint, Salkin submitted a completed pilot script, detailed character descriptions, a series bible and a visual presentation to Sheridan’s management company in 2016. She was subsequently informed that Sheridan was unavailable to consider new television projects.

Paramount began developing Yellowstone within months. The series premiered on June 20, 2018.

Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, owners of an enormous ranch in Montana.

Ricky Martin has unexpectedly joined the cast of Hombre al Agua, the new film from Mexican actor and director Gael García Bernal.

The Puerto Rican singer’s involvement was revealed on August 24 with the release of the film’s first international trailer. Martin not only appears on screen but has also joined the project as an executive producer.

It is his first fully Spanish-language role since his early work in the 1990s. However, this is not a return to acting after a long absence: Martin has continued appearing on screen in recent years, primarily in English-language American television productions.

In Hombre al Agua, Martin plays Roby, an actor hired to portray the film’s central character, Camilo, in a biographical movie about his life.
