Portuguese police arrested a man on the A6 motorway near Estremoz, later identified by local media as former Serbian footballer Uroš Milošević.

Inside the van, officers found around 1,532 kg of high-purity cocaine, with an estimated value of more than €70 million. Police also seized two loaded semi-automatic firearms.

The arrest took place on 12 August, while the suspect’s identity became widely reported on 21 August. A court ordered him to remain in custody while the investigation continues.

Authorities are treating the case as part of a wider international drug-trafficking network using Portugal as an entry point for large cocaine shipments into Europe.

The operation involved cooperation between Portuguese and Spanish police. Two other Serbian nationals linked to the same alleged network were also detained in Spain.

🚄 🇫🇷 French TGV arrives in Paris 11 hours late

Around 500 passengers on a high-speed TGV train effectively spent the night travelling after a series of disruptions in southwestern France.

The train, travelling from Hendaye to Paris, encountered several problems along the route. Passengers had to change trains, and the replacement service was later delayed for hours near Bordeaux.

Among those on board was a pregnant woman who went into labour. She had to be evacuated and handed over to medical teams.

The TGV eventually arrived in Paris around 11 hours behind schedule.

French rail operator SNCF said passengers will receive compensation worth 200% of the ticket price.

For one of Europe’s largest high-speed rail networks, the incident became a serious test — both for the infrastructure and for hundreds of passengers.

German organisation HateAid has filed a criminal complaint against Meta, Ray-Ban, Oakley and several retailers, calling for sales of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses to be stopped in Germany.

The main concern is that the glasses can be used to record people on video and capture audio almost unnoticed. The camera is built into what looks like an ordinary pair of glasses, meaning people nearby may not even realise they are being recorded.

HateAid argues that such devices could violate not only German law, but also broader European rules on privacy and personal data protection.

⚠️ There is no ban yet. The case concerns a criminal complaint and a demand to halt sales.

But the issue goes far beyond Germany and one model of smart glasses. Devices combining cameras, microphones and artificial intelligence are becoming increasingly discreet, forcing Europe to define new legal boundaries.

🚨 Russia hit civilians in Kryvyi Rih — then rescuers

Russia launched drone strikes on a shopping centre in Kryvyi Rih.

According to preliminary reports, at least 6 people were killed and around 90 were injured. Children are among the wounded.

But the most horrifying detail is the second strike.

According to Ukrainian authorities, a second drone hit about half an hour after the first attack — when rescuers, medics and people trying to help the wounded were already working at the scene.

This was not just an attack on a city. It was a strike on a civilian place. And then — a strike on those who came to save lives.

This is what Russia’s war against Ukraine looks like: first hit civilians, then create even more fear for those who are supposed to pull the wounded from the rubble.

Kryvyi Rih shows Europe one simple thing again: Ukraine does not need support only in words. Ukraine needs real protection of its sky — more air defence, more anti-drone systems and more missile defence.

🚨 Russia conducts missile tests on Japan’s Northern Territories

Russia has conducted missile tests on islands that Japan considers its Northern Territories and continues to demand back.

According to media reports, the test involved the Bastion coastal missile system on Etorofu / Iturup. Japan has protested and said that Russia’s growing military activity on these territories is unacceptable.

This is not just a regional episode between Moscow and Tokyo.

It shows the same Russian logic again: first hold another country’s territory, then place military force there, and then demand that everyone accept this as a new “reality.”

🚨 Sword attack at a school in Sweden

In the Swedish town of Fagersta, a man armed with a sword attacked people at Brinell School.

According to local authorities and police, several people were injured and one suspect was detained. After the attack, several schools and public buildings in the town were temporarily closed, while emergency services were placed on high alert.

Northern and central Italy have been hit by extreme weather once again.

🚨 Spain moves migrant girls from Ceuta to the mainland

Spain is preparing the urgent transfer of around 500 unaccompanied migrant girls from Ceuta to mainland Spain.

Ceuta is not just a city. It is a Spanish enclave in North Africa and one of the external borders of the European Union.

After the mass crossing from Morocco at the end of July, thousands of people remained in Ceuta. Among them are many minors who cannot simply be treated as ordinary border statistics.

The situation became especially dangerous for girls. Reports of sexual violence, harassment and unsafe conditions forced Spain to act faster.

This is where Europe faces one of its hardest questions.

The border must be protected. The law must work. Illegal migration cannot become normal.

🚨 Weapons for Putin’s agents found near Berlin

A hidden weapons cache has been discovered in a forest in Brandenburg, not far from Berlin.

According to German media, the cache contained two combat pistols, while German counterintelligence is checking a possible connection to Russian intelligence services. Investigators are looking at whether the site may have been used as a dead letterbox — a secret place for passing weapons or materials to agents.

German security officials do not rule out that the weapons could have been intended for “kinetic operations” — physical violence, attacks or sabotage.

This is no longer only a story about drones, borders and cyberattacks.
